18-year-old's Murder Caught On Video Five Years After His Father's Murder Also Caught On Tape

Indianapolis police are asking the public for assistance in tracking down the murderer of an 18-year-old man whose shooting death was captured on surveillance tape. The victim, Elijah Lacey, was set to graduate next week and tragically his death is not the only murder that his family is dealing with. In May 2013 his father Jason was shot to death as he stepped outside his home to investigate a strange noise. His killers were also caught on surveillance tape but his murder was never solved. The Lacey family hopes that Elijah's case has a different outcome. Anyone who has any information has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

Another unsolved murder case that police are looking for assistance in is the 30-year-old murder of Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylenborg, a Canadian couple who were traveling to Seattle when they were killed. A suspect, William Earl Talbott II, has been arrested through the same DNA technology used to capture the Golden State Killer. Now Snohomish County detectives are asking for help from anyone who knew Talbott in 1987. They are trying to retrace his steps. Specifically, they are looking for:
  • Photos of Talbott circa 1987 and 1988.
  • Tips tying Talbott to evidence from the case: a .380-caliber pistol; a blue blanket that covered Cook’s body; Cook’s green canvas backpack; Cook’s black ski jacket; or Van Cuylenborg’s Minolta X-700 camera, with serial number 2067048.
  • Any information about Talbott’s work or travels in the 1980s.
The tipline number is 425-388-3845.

Southern Miss Police Assistant Chief Rusty Keyes is asking the public for assistance in the 1993 disappearance and probable homicide of  Angela Freeman who was 17 years old and four months pregnant when she went missing. At first, her disappearance was treated as another runaway teenager but then her car was found with blood in it. Now police are treating the case as a homicide, even though her body has never been found. Angela's mother, Debra, held a memorial service in 2002 but says the family is never going to stop looking for her. They ask that anyone with information contact Assistant Chief Keyes at 601-266-4946.
